I don't think that the government has much of a role in the general welfare and the pursuit of happiness for many Americans. I believe that there are still some minorities that are discriminated against because the government has persecuted them in the past, such as blacks and Hispanics. Because of the previous discrimination, it is much harder for these minorities to provide for their themselves and their families well-being.
